The Emmalee's Story
History:
in 1999, Daniel and Bonnie Lee White, upon learning they were going to be grandparents made the decision to move west to be closer to their son and soon to arrive grand daughter.
Not wishing to deal with the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas; they found a home in Pahrump. Daniel was retired due to a significant motorcycle accident; but Bonnie still required an income. As Daniel and their son, Dan II were avid firearms collectors and competitors with a broad background in the firearms field; the idea of a gun shop came naturally, and plans were placed into motion for a small "Mom and Pop" shop upon their own property.
As construction of the shop proceeded; dozens of names for this new shop were offered and then rejected as nothing felt quite right to define the family shop. Around this same time, Daniel and Bonnies baby grand daughter was born in Las Vegas. Born prematurely at 29 weeks and weighing only 2 pounds; the new family member was immediately moved into the neonatal intensive care unit; she nearly passed or was considered passed multiple times in her first week. And every time she fought back. She was named to honor two very fine women; her great grandmother "Emma" and her grandmother, Bonnie "Lee". It was obvious that the shop could only be named after her and thus; Emmalee's Guns & Emporium was born.
Emmalee's opened in 2001 and is the oldest operating gun shop in Pahrump.
